Snowboard maintenance is the most underrated thing in snowboarding, and in this video I lay out my complete, no-fluff list of tools for edge tuning and waxing. I’m re-doing this one because people keep asking what actually matters, what’s optional, and where you really shouldn’t cheap out. I start with the basics—pull your bindings off before you tune—and then I get into why solid tuning vices are worth it if you want consistent results and less frustration. From there I walk through the edge-tuning workflow: de-burring and removing case hardening, setting base bevel with a proper guide and base files, then side edge tuning with a file guide and the right files. I also explain what base edge vs side edge actually does for ride feel, so you’re not just copying numbers without understanding the tradeoffs. We talk sidewall removal (when it’s necessary and when it’s not), which files I use to sharpen, how I use diamond stones to refine and maintain edges, and where replacement diamond sheets make sense. Finally, I cover gummi stones for de-durring, base cleaning before waxing, and what to look for in a waxing iron so you can keep your board fast and your edges predictable all season.
