About This Video

In this video I’m talking about one of the biggest “unlock” moments in carving: the edge change. If you want that smooth, connected feeling from turn to turn—what I call flow—you need to be able to switch edges cleanly without rushing it. My rule is simple: if you can’t do it slow, you can’t do it fast. Speed just amplifies whatever you’re already doing, so I’d rather see you nail the movement pattern at a crawl than survive it at Mach 10. The focus is on creating a calm, controlled transition where the board goes from one edge to the other with intention, not panic. I’m aiming to help you feel where the board is flat, when it’s engaging, and how to let the new edge take over without forcing it. If you’ve been fighting skidded entries, late edge changes, or that “stuck on an edge” sensation, this is the kind of slow-practice framework that builds real carving confidence—whether you’re laying trenches on groomers or just trying to make your turns quieter and more efficient.
