‘Shmorduroy’ is a carving film that captures the raw energy and excitement that gets unleashed when you trust yourself, tap into the moment and just ride your snowboard down a run with intention and commitment... There's no other feeling on earth like the g-force experienced in a fast and low carving turn on a snowboard! Shmorduroy was filmed in the spring of 2024 at Sun Peaks Resort in BC, Canada. Liam Hall, the producer of the clip, approached me over a year prior to this and asked whether I'd be interested in making a carving short film, and here we are! The conditions were challenging, but also realistic! The day started with a borderline whiteout that made filming - and solid riding for that matter - impossible. By the time we had some contrast, the snow had started to turn from corduroy into Shmorduroy. The better the weather got, the worse the conditions became with bumps forming that in areas were quite easily half a foot tall. Often when I post a carving clip of myself people say "Wow, I wish I had such good conditions!", and that almost devaluates the riding. I do, however, understand that, because carving is so much easier and so much more enjoyable on fresh morning corduroy. But after travelling for 10 hours and spending quite a chunk of change on a day pass you kinda just gotta man up a bit and do your best... and sometimes that's when magic happens! - Filmed and edited by Liam Hall at https://kiwimancreative.com/ Rider: Lars Horstmann at https://www.youtube.com/@Justaride-Snowboard-Channel Location: Sun Peaks Resort, British Columbia, Canada - My setup: Board: Stranda Pipeliner 185 Bindings: YES Airmaster Xtrm Stance: Regular, 53cm, 30°/+9° - With support from: https://www.strandasnowboards.com/ https://www.sidecut.com/ https://www.nanox-wax.com/en/ - Support the channel and further films like this one here: https://www.buymeacoffee.com/justaride - https://www.instagram.com/lars.justaride - If you want to own a Stranda Snowboard, use this link, please!
