Drugstore brands love to say they’re “inclusive”… but are they really? In this video I’m doing a true Who Did It Better battle on deeper skin tones, putting CoverGirl vs Milani side-by-side and mixing in a few other affordable new releases (e.l.f., Maybelline, and a little Revolution). My main focus is always the same: does it actually show up on my chocolate skin, are the undertones right, does it blend, and is it going to leave me looking ashy or emphasize texture/pores. I used the Maybelline Lifter Plump & Glow foundation as my base (it’s giving smooth, everyday coverage), then tested concealers on each side and paid close attention to how they sat on my oily, textured, mature skin—especially creasing and dryness once set. The real test was bronzer and blush: I purposely skipped cream bronzer so we could see if these powders truly showed up. Spoiler: both sides ended up looking gorgeous, but up close you can see differences in warmth, glow, and finish. By the end, you’ll know which formulas actually delivered payoff for dark skin and which ones I was on the fence about.
