In this video, I’m finally testing the NEW reformulated Estée Lauder Double Wear Stay-in-Place Lightweight Matte Foundation (36-hour wear) and the newly released Patrick Ta Major Skin Soft Blur Brightening Hydrating Concealer. I apply everything on my oily, textured skin with no primer because I wanted to see what the foundation does on its own—no help, no excuses. I also talk through the new bottle, the shade range (yes, there are more shades on the Estée Lauder website), and what I noticed right away about the texture and finish. My first impression of the new Double Wear is that it’s way thinner and more water-like than the original, and it feels super sticky—like you do not need a sticky primer with this. On the skin it looks very “skin-like” and pretty, and my cheeks actually looked smooth (which is usually my problem area), but my forehead looked extra creasy and dry/cracked, and I noticed oxidation compared to the original. The Patrick Ta concealer? I loved the formula—lightweight, blends effortlessly, and gives gorgeous medium coverage—but the two shades I grabbed read more like color correctors on me (one was straight up orange), so I’m exchanging for more wearable shades.
