Luxury makeup is getting more and more expensive, so in this video I tested a full face of makeup where every single product is $20 and under to see if high-end is even worth it anymore—especially on my oily, textured, medium-deep skin. I focused on the things that matter for my skin type: blur, oil control, smooth texture, and that “skin-like” natural glam finish. I also did my full skin prep with affordable swaps for my Lancôme serums, because I’m telling you… skin prep makes a major difference in how makeup sits and wears. For complexion, I used the NYX Make ‘Em Wonder Soft Matte foundation (beautiful formula, super skin-like, but my shade choice leaned a little olive on me), plus Maybelline Lifter concealer for coverage. I set with NYX Wonder Snatch powders (Peach Posse under the eyes and Cinnamon Catch for the rest of the face) because they truly give me that high-end Huda-type effect without feeling as drying. I finished everything with Juvia’s Place setting spray to melt the powders in and lock the makeup down, then added Milani baked bronzer/blush, a pop of E.L.F. highlighter, and my go-to lip combo. Bottom line: yes, we absolutely created a gorgeous glam that rivals luxury—without the luxury price tag.
