Hi everyone, I’m JD from Willowbound Journals, and in this video I’m doing a flip through of the final four Vintage French boho journals in this collection—two years in the making. One of them is already reserved, and there are three still available in my Etsy shop. To make it easy to choose, I’ve named them by the cover stacks: “purple above pink,” “pink above blue,” and “blue above purple.” I also show you the trims and fabrics I used (including gorgeous sari trims and fabric sourced from India), plus the little details like contrasting embroidery thread on the covers. Inside, these are proper treasure journals: three signatures, lots of coffee-dyed pages, vintage ledger paper lining the covers, pockets, sewing, handmade ephemera, and plenty of French documents. I used pages from my antique French book The Spirit of Flowers (1884) throughout the collection, along with antique postcards, checks, letters, envelopes (some with letters inside), playing cards, French labels, seed packets from my printable kit, and one of my sequin/glitter shaker bags in each journal. My big takeaway (and honestly, my personal challenge) was using the “special” things I tend to hoard. Making seven journals forced me to let go of treasures, and it’s fitting with my gentle no-spend goal this year—using what I already have, even the best bits.
