About This Video

Hi everyone, I’m JD from Willowbound Journals, and in this journal-with-me I’m working in my yearly memory-keeping journal—one I made from a Little Golden Book (The Blue Book of Fairy Tales). I love using full-size cream pages because it gives me so much space, and I use this journal to capture the memorable moments (not every single day). In this session I’m working across three page spreads, using printed photos plus bits of day-to-day ephemera I’ve collected, because I tend to journal in here once or twice a month—so it really builds up. I’m documenting some of my favourite highlights: a spontaneous day with a friend at the library and op shops (including the very surreal moment of seeing my book Lamp in Dark Places on the library shelf), a spontaneous Airlie Beach lagoon swim (truly one of my absolute favourite places), and some simple life notes like making muesli and sushi bowls as part of my no-spend year and my goal to eat more regularly and healthily. I also share joyful, whimsical moments—like our Galentine’s “princess dinner” at The Castle (chandeliers, thrones, the whole vibe), which has now turned into monthly princess dinners. Across the later spreads I include creative life updates too: D&D with my Merry Maidens (I’m Silver the Fox), my ongoing “princess living” journey, studio/bedroom updates with fairy lights and crystal strands, slow stitching as “thread therapy,” and a little behind-the-scenes book update as I keep working on my next book each Thursday.
