Hi everyone, I’m JD from Willowbound Journals, and in this video I’m sharing my two-years-in-the-making boho vintage French journal collection. I had this vision to combine the vibrant colour and texture of boho sari trims (straight from India) with my absolute favourite theme—vintage French neutrals—and it’s honestly so satisfying to finally see it all come to life. I show the whole collection first: one big, chunky “big sister” journal with five signatures, plus six “little sisters” with cover variations (blue over purple, pink over blue… you get the idea!). Then I flip through the big sister so you can see exactly how I built it up: vintage ledger lining in the cover, handmade pockets, collage work, and so many tucked-in treasures. Every journal includes pages from my most beautiful antique book, The Spirit of Flowers (1884)—I scanned and printed the illustrations double-sided—plus vintage French seed packets, letters, envelopes, documents, wine labels, playing cards, and lots (and lots) of antique French postcards. This whole collection is me finally saying: use the treasures, thrift my own supplies, and make something that feels like a proper treasure chest for the next person.
