About This Video

Hi everyone, I’m JD from Willowbound Journals, and in this video I’m taking you on a little walk around my local library while I hunt for books to borrow (and yes… I definitely linger on the shelves). As I’m browsing, I’m re-introducing you to the Willow Book Club—my Facebook group for anyone who loves reading, swapping recommendations, and sharing reviews. I’ve been a book lover since I was a kid, long before I even started journaling, and honestly I just wanted a place where we could talk about books together. I’m also bringing back something that I genuinely call life-changing: Book Bingo. Last year I did a Book Bingo challenge through my local book club and somehow read 28 books in one month, which still makes me laugh a little bit because it was intense—but so, so good. What I loved most was the research phase (finding books that fit the prompts), and how it pushed me out of my usual genres. I read every book through three lenses—reader, writer, and “person who lives and thinks”—so Book Bingo ended up impacting me on all three levels. For Willow Book Club, I’ve made a separate Bingo card with broad and specific prompts, but the goal is simple: tick it off by the end of the year, at your own pace. You can do the whole card, a row, or even just five books—no hard rules. I’ll post the card in the Facebook group, and I’m also thinking up some fun prizes and bookish rewards to keep it motivating.
