In this video I’m comparing two of my favorite phones to start the year: the iPhone 17 Pro Max and the OnePlus 15—after months of real use. Specs are easy, but day-to-day is where these phones separate, so I break down what actually matters: battery over time, charging, display quality, audio, cameras, performance, heat management, and the little features that make you either love a phone… or get annoyed by it. Battery is the headline. The iPhone 17 Pro Max is easily the best Apple’s done for me—I’m getting all day and then some, and most people will see around two days. But the OnePlus 15 is in a league of its own: I’m consistently seeing three days, plus 100W charging is just ridiculous. On the flip side, the iPhone’s display is brighter, less reflective thanks to that anti-reflective coating, and HDR looks better to my eyes. Camera-wise, the OnePlus 15 shocked me (it’s genuinely good), but the iPhone is still king for consistency and those new front camera options. If you’re a speed demon or gamer, OnePlus is the performance king with that buttery feel and great cooling. If you live in Apple’s ecosystem, care about MagSafe accessories, want longer software support, and better resale value, the iPhone makes a lot of sense. Both are “goated,” but there’s a pretty clear winner depending on what you value most.
