About This Video

What happens when you daily drive two of the most powerful (and expensive) phones you can buy right now? In this long-term comparison, I’m breaking down the iPhone 17 Pro Max vs the Galaxy Z Fold 7 the way I actually use them—side by side, with one SIM in each phone. Yes, they’re different “classes” of devices (slab vs foldable), but they’re both top-of-the-food-chain flagships, and the real question is which one holds up better in real life over time. I go deep on the stuff that matters day to day: displays, multimedia, multitasking, software, battery, performance, biometrics, cameras, and accessories. The Fold 7 is a straight-up showstopper—stupid thin, crazy beautiful, and that internal screen + multitasking (split screen, pop-up apps, and Dex) is a legit game changer. But I’m also real about the downsides: no anti-reflective display out of the box, the speakers don’t touch the iPhone, battery life is not good enough if you use it open like I do, and charging is slow. The iPhone 17 Pro Max is the “refined beast”: insane battery (near two days for me), the best cooling I’ve ever used, better speakers, rock-solid Face ID, and overall better cameras—especially zoom, video, and low-light shots with movement. My takeaway: if prices are close and you want the ultimate productivity/multimedia phone, the Fold 7 is hard to beat. If you care most about battery, cameras, accessories, and the most consistent long-term experience, the 17 Pro Max is the safer pick.
