In this video I’m breaking down the ESR Rebound Magnetic Keyboard Case for my M5 iPad Pro and answering the big question: is it a legit Magic Keyboard killer? I love how thin and light the M5 iPad Pro is, but that also made me want real protection—something the Magic Keyboard just doesn’t give you. I wanted a setup that covers the iPad all the way around, works like a proper keyboard/trackpad combo, and doesn’t turn into a “stupid expensive” stack of extra accessories. The ESR Rebound system comes in two pieces: a protective case that feels like a super thin OtterBox-style shell (but still really light), and a magnetic Bluetooth keyboard base. I go over the typing feel, the backlit full-size layout, and the trackpad—especially the fact that it actually clicks, which I personally prefer. I also show the adjustable hinge and the really unique magnetic positioning options (including different heights and orientations), plus the magnetic pencil flap that keeps my Apple Pencil from getting lost in my bag. I also installed ESR’s Armorite screen protector and talk about how easy the tray install is, how clear it looks, and how responsive it feels with the Apple Pencil. Overall, it’s a strong value play versus the Magic Keyboard, with the main trade-off being no pass-through charging/extra USB-C port.
