About This Video

After daily-driving the iPhone 17 Pro Max for three months, I can confidently say this has been one of the most fun—and honestly one of the best—iPhones Apple has ever released. I’m coming at this as somebody who tests a ton of phones, and the fact that my main eSIM is still in this silver “aluminum beast” should tell you everything. In this long-term review I break down the real stuff that matters after the honeymoon phase: battery life, display, software stability, performance, thermals, design, and cameras. Battery is the headline here: for my use I’m seeing around 10 to 11 hours of screen-on time, and I’m already at 89 cycles with 100% max capacity—so yeah, I’ve been beating this thing. The 3000-nit display is a legit upgrade outside, plus the new anti-reflective coating and scratch resistance are noticeably better. iOS 26 with Liquid Glass looks insanely good (I’m a “gooey guy,” I notice the small stuff), and iOS 26.2 finally feels polished after some early choppiness. I also talk Apple Intelligence (I barely use it—writing tools and visual intelligence are the highlights), why Siri is still garbage, and my biggest “Apple, come on” complaint: no real multitasking on a giant screen. Then we wrap with cameras—this tri-48MP setup is wild, the 100mm 4x is my favorite, and I’m still shooting 4K60 HDR because the video is just that good.
