Battery has been consistently full-day for my usage, and performance side-by-side with my 17 Pro Max doesn’t feel different to me. The big trade-offs are the single rear camera (no telephoto, no ultra-wide) and the one thing that genuinely bugs me—the single speaker. If Apple ever drops an Air 2 with dual speakers and a telephoto, it’s game over.
