I think I’ve finally found my favorite screen protector for the iPhone 17 Pro Max, and this video is basically me breaking down why I switched to matte and why I’m not going back. I’ve been buying and testing a ton of different protectors, and because Apple added that light anti-reflective coating this year, I didn’t want to slap something on my phone that ruins that whole non-reflective vibe. I tried a couple “anti-reflective” options that I liked at first, but the durability just wasn’t there—those coatings scratched way too easily. I’ve wanted a matte screen protector on my iPhone for years because I loved the matte feel on my iPad mini, and going matte has genuinely changed my day-to-day experience. Yes, you technically lose a tiny bit of clarity compared to glossy, but the TAC matte protector surprised me—I didn’t feel like it demolished screen quality like a lot of random matte protectors do. No weird color distortion on white backgrounds, no blurry black text, and the fitment is great. On top of that, it’s super easy to install with the tray, it cuts fingerprints like crazy, and it adds that slight texture to swiping that my fingers absolutely adore.
