Hi there, my lovely lovely sleepy squirrels. In this video I’m doing a slow, cozy flip-through of a vintage French fashion magazine called Dupari (VRA mode), dated the 14th of January, 1960. I found a bunch of these at Emmaüs (like a thrift/charity shop) and I’ve been meaning to sit down, trace, tap, and just quietly chat through all the little details—so today I’m finally getting round to it. Expect soft spoken/whispery page turning, light tapping, and lots of gentle “look at this” moments as we admire the cover (purple, slightly stained, very charming) and that adorable balloon-skirt dress. Inside, I react to the outfits (including a blue velvet “dinosaur” number my son would love, and a trench-coat-style dress I would genuinely wear now), some surprisingly random pages (motorcycle police content in a fashion magazine… okay), sewing and embroidery patterns, recipes, knitting, and even horoscopes from 1960. There are also a few bits that made me laugh and a few that genuinely infuriated me (I’m still mad about the “unbalanced women” article). We finish on a pretty little garden page and a cute back-page comic, and I invite you to tell me your favorite part—balloon skirts get a balloon emoji, obviously.
