Hi there, lovely sleepy squirrels. In this video I’m doing a cozy, slow ASMR unboxing of the Throne of Glass series by Sarah J. Maas—specifically the Amazon “box set” that isn’t really a box set (it’s the books wrapped in plastic), but I still treat it like one. Before we get into the covers and blurbs, I spend a good chunk of time just making sleepy book sounds: sticky-finger plastic crinkles, spine tapping, gentle tracing, and that lovely raised/embossed text that I always get a bit obsessed with. Then I go through the books one by one: The Assassin’s Blade (the novellas/prequel), Throne of Glass, Crown of Midnight, Heir of Fire, Queen of Shadows, Empire of Storms, Tower of Dawn, and Kingdom of Ash. I read the back-of-book blurbs (yes, there are spoilers in blurbs, but I always forget them anyway), notice the little color details along the spines, and spot the maps inside (which I love). I also chat about reading order—because prequel doesn’t always mean “read first”—and I’m thinking about bringing book one into my Patreon book club as a little “background” read so we can all chat about it together.
