Digging Out Solo...Remote Alaska Cabin Trip Didn't Go as Planned

Joe heads out to our remote cabin to check on it and to check safety of the rivers so we can plan a family trip to the cabin. He's met with over 4FT of snow and gets his snowmachine stuck...hours of digging out solo, just to discover our well is frozen. After Joe returns home to our main cabin, we spend the day working around the homestead — continuing work on the barn roof, cooking some good homemade food, and making progress in our pantry space by building more shelving. Later in the day I start more seedlings for our indoor garden as we begin preparing for the upcoming growing season. Living in Alaska means learning how to work with the seasons and getting creative when it comes to growing food. Even while the snow is still deep outside, life inside the homestead is busy with projects, food, and getting seeds started for the months ahead. Thanks for being here for it, cheers!
