In this video I’m basically showing you how to get to a smooth R&B / neo-soul vibe fast by merging two VSTs: Scaler 3 and Melody Sauce 2. I start with my own Neo Soul chord set from my BeatStars kits, import it into Scaler (user > import chord sets), and build a progression that gives you that “track” feeling—especially that move from the 4 to the 7. From there I drag the chords over into EZkeys 2, keep the key in F minor, and humanize it so it doesn’t sound robotic. After the chords are solid, I go grab a modern/contemporary R&B MIDI play style inside EZkeys, tweak velocity, and then pick a sound I like (I used Scorch for the vibe). Then I jump into Melody Sauce 2, set the scale so everything stays locked, and generate a topline melody that sits right on top of the progression. The big takeaway is learning how to make these tools work together so there’s no reason you can’t make something every day or every week—upload it, build beat tapes, sell your music, and just keep the repetition going.
