What is up YouTube, it’s Hollywood Floss, the worst producer of all time, and in this video I’m cooking up with WA Production InstaComposer 3 and using Scaler (I used Scaler 3 vibes, but this works the same with Scaler 2) to set the foundation. My whole method is simple: I start in Scaler, find a chord progression (we landed in F minor), then I lock InstaComposer into that same key so everything it generates stays musical and in-pocket. From there I’m hitting “Go” to generate a melody, then building out the idea with rhythm, bass, and even a pad. The big takeaway: InstaComposer 3 is powerful, but it has a learning curve. If you don’t want to learn, it might not be for you—but if you do, it’s packed with dope ways to get MIDI and chord progressions you probably wouldn’t have thought of. I show how to control the rhythm engine (structured vs random, chord notes, sustain, humanize, repeats, pattern length) so it doesn’t come in stiff. For me, this is an ideas-and-melodies tool first (I don’t really like it for drums), and it’s one of my go-tos right next to MIDI Wizard 2, EZkeys 2, and Scaler. Use these tools—don’t let the tools use you.
