I’m at 80 BPM, I pick E♭ minor (D# minor), and I start inside EZ Keys 2 to get a clean, smooth chord progression fast. I hit “suggest chords,” slide into that soul/R&B lane with a little gospel flavor, then I swap the MIDI to a more modern R&B theme so it’s not just basic chords—it’s actually moving like a record. Then I show you the real cheat code: EZ Keys 2 can be limiting because you’ll eventually run out of MIDI, so you need a generator for variation. That’s where Melody Sauce 2 comes in. I set it to the same key, pick an R&B vibe, and jump into the advanced editor to program the exact chords from EZ Keys (a lot of people don’t even know you can program chords in Melody Sauce). Once those chords are in, it’s unlimited—add leads, synth lines, and keep it all in key while you build. Bottom line: use tools as options, not addictions, and most of all have fun creating.
