About This Video

In this video I tested the LINNER Saturn, a budget over-the-counter hearing aid that’s usually right around $99 (and I’ve even seen it for about $85 on Amazon). It’s a tiny in-the-canal style—marketed as CIC, but I’d personally call it more of an ITC—so it’s pretty discreet from the front and still doesn’t look like a “traditional” hearing aid. The big theme here is simplicity: no app, no Bluetooth, no streaming, no programs—just a push button on each aid for volume with six levels. They’re rechargeable, rated for mild to moderate loss, and LINNER claims about 20 hours of runtime with a case that doubles as a portable charger. I also get into the real-world stuff: comfort, occlusion, feedback, and how these do in noise. They were comfortable for me, but they’re fully occluding, and with my mild high-frequency loss that plugged-up, boomy feeling was just too much (you don’t get venting options like you do with customs). Sound quality is what you’d expect: not terrible, but it sounds like a $100 hearing aid and it struggled badly in noisy places—Costco was a no-go for me. Feedback was significant above volume 4, so if you’re closer to moderate loss, that could be an issue depending on your ear canal fit. Bottom line: decent for the price if you’re mostly at home and need something ultra-budget, but don’t expect noise performance.
