In this video I’m ranking the most popular GPUs right now using the latest Steam Hardware Survey, and honestly, the results might surprise you. I run through the top five cards and give my take on why they’re there, what they’re actually good at, and where I think people are making smart picks (or just buying the badge on the box). Spoiler: it’s an Nvidia lockout in the top five, and AMD barely shows up at all. I start with the RTX 3060 in fifth place—one of the best GPUs Nvidia’s ever made thanks to 12GB of VRAM and great all-round performance, even if I personally wouldn’t buy one now given how far the market has moved on (even used). Then we’ve got the RTX 4060 Ti and RTX 5060, where I talk value, VRAM awareness (or lack of it), and why the Nvidia brand still carries serious weight—although in my own builds I’d lean toward a 9600 XT instead for better value. At number two is the RTX 4060, which took heat for 8GB, but as a 1080p card it was perfectly fine. And at number one, the RTX 5070: 12GB VRAM, great 1440p performance, DLSS, and it makes total sense as a popular choice—especially in pre-built gaming PCs.
