In this build I’m taking NZXT’s brand new H2 Flow and seeing if a genuinely compact mini-ITX case can handle properly top-end hardware without falling apart on thermals, noise, or sanity. The goal is simple: cram an RTX 5080 Founders Edition and AMD’s Ryzen 7 9850X3D (the fastest gaming CPU right now) into a small form factor setup, talk you through why I picked each part, and show you exactly what the build process looks like—warts and all. Yes, that includes the classic “don’t drop the screw… I’ve dropped the screw” moment. I break down the H2’s dual-chamber layout (GPU at the rear, everything else up front), the included top exhaust fans, and why a 280mm radiator intake makes a ton of sense here. I also cover the realities of mini-ITX: pricier motherboards, tighter clearances, and cable management being the hardest part by a mile. Once it’s built, I tested a stack of games at 4K high settings to see if the small form factor costs you performance—and the results land right around that ~90 FPS mark in demanding titles, with Arc Raiders pushing 112 FPS and Fortnite hitting 320+ FPS at 1080p competitive. Overall: compact, powerful, and way less compromised than you’d expect if you choose parts that actually fit.
