About This Video

In this build guide I put together what I’d call the ultimate 1440p gaming PC for 2026—something that’ll absolutely smash the latest AAA titles at high settings with super high frame rates, while still keeping those upgrade paths nice and open. The core combo here is an AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D with a Radeon RX 9070 XT, all built inside Thermaltake’s View 370 TG ARGB (that wraparound angled glass genuinely looks pretty special). I walk you through the full assembly step-by-step: CPU, RAM, Gen 5 NVMe, motherboard install, PSU wiring, cooler fitment, fan setup, and then the ā€œrewardā€ at the end—dropping in the GPU. I also explain my parts logic. The 9800X3D can look overkill for a 9070 XT in some scenarios, but I’m prioritising competitive 1080p and super high 1440p FPS where the CPU matters more. On the GPU side, the 9070 XT is one of my favourite cards full stop: 16GB VRAM, brilliant 1440p performance, solid legs at 4K, and it generally trades blows really well against pricier options (even if FSR still isn’t as good as DLSS). Finally, I run through real game numbers—Battlefield 6, Resident Evil Requiem, Cyberpunk 2077 at 1440p, then Marvel’s Rivals, Pragmata and Arc Raiders at 4K—so you can see exactly what performance you’re buying.
