In this Part 7, I quickly show you the Performance Mode side of FL Studio and how the IL Remote Performance Tab lets you control it straight from your phone. I use simple samples to explain the idea, because once you switch a project to Performance Mode, there’s no undo. So my first advice is: don’t use your main saved project—save it as a new one, then go to Tools > Macros > Prepare for performance mode and accept the warning. After that, I break down what you’re seeing: rows and columns where your clips/patterns live, and how you can organize them in a way that makes sense for live play—like keeping piano variations on one straight line, drums on another, chorus on a straight line, and so on. On the IL Remote, you might not see up to 16 by default, so I show you how to go into settings and increase the rows/columns until everything is visible without too much scrolling. I also explain the row stop button (it stops everything on that row) and why Performance Mode is sweet: when you trigger the next clip in a row, it deactivates the previous one automatically. Finally, I touch triggers—if it’s retriggering when you tap again, switch to “latch” so it toggles off instead. For snap/global snap, I personally prefer doing those settings inside FL Studio itself, then the remote just follows.
