About This Video

In this video, I’m showing you how I make Afrobeats in 2026 in the easiest and fastest way—full breakdown, step by step. I used my song “Fire in My Waist” as the example, and I go straight into the real work: drums first, then melodies, then how I arrange everything so it feels clean and professional. A lot of people noticed I’d been doing more gadget content lately, so I came back with a proper beat tutorial and I kept it moving—fast, but detailed enough for you to apply immediately. For the drums, I layered shakers, multiple rims, claps, congas, percussion, hats, and kick—because the goal is fullness without sounds fighting each other. I explain why I double rims (different tonalities, different fundamental frequencies), and how I layer snares (one thick, one bright) while EQ’ing them with vocals in mind. For the music side, I used a Kontakt guitar (Yamx/S900 library), a Lounge Lizard piano (B Fly Roads One), pads from Korg M1, and a Model Bass (60P) that I lean on a lot. Then I added “secret sounds” from Mini Korg/MonoPoly Korg-style plugins—little ear-candy parts that come in and out, not everywhere—so the beat stays alive.
