Las Vegas isn’t just casinos and shows — it’s also home to one of the most important punk rock attractions in the world. In this video, we visit the Punk Rock Museum in Las Vegas, exploring the stories, instruments, and attitude that shaped punk music on both sides of the Atlantic. Coming at this from a British perspective, we compare UK and US punk scenes and explain why this place feels special — even if you’re not a hardcore punk fan. For us, this visit meant more than just a sense of nostalgia. Before travelling the world, I was once a punk rock musician, so seeing the guitars, lyrics, and first-hand stories hit on a very personal level. This museum isn’t polished or corporate — it feels raw, honest, and true to punk itself. If you’re looking for hidden gems in Las Vegas, alternative attractions off the Strip, or you simply love music history, this is a must-visit. 🎸 Whether you’re a punk fan, a curious traveller, or just want to see a different side of Vegas, this place deserves your time. 🎲 LAS VEGAS ADVENTURES: The Full Las Vegas Playlist ➔ https://tr.ee/HgFLPs (Binge-watch the entire series from start to finish) 👉 Subscribe for budget travel, vanlife & real-world adventures 👉 Comment below: Would you get in a taxi with no driver? 🌍 TRAVEL PLANNING & ESSENTIALS Buses & Trains in Asia: https://12go.asia/?z=11180835 eSIM (15% OFF): https://airalo.pxf.io/c/6088765/2071037/15608 NordVPN (73% OFF): https://nordvpn.com/footstepstyretracks Our Favorite Itineraries: https://plannin.com/en?refId=FootstepsTyretracks 💳 TRAVEL CARDS WE USE Starling: https://www.starlingbank.com/referral?code=Udl4ja Revolut: https://revolut.com/referral/?referral-code=marcz55v!NOV1-25-VR-GB-MDL-CTRL&geo-redirect 🚐 GEAR & MERCH Our Travel & Vanlife Gear: https://www.amazon.co.uk/shop/footstepstyretracks Get the Merch: https://footsteps-tyretracks-shop.fourthwall.com Our Soundtrack (Epidemic Sound): https://www.epidemicsound.com/referral/fpupd2 📸 FOLLOW THE ADVENTURE Blog: https://footstepstyretracks.com Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/footsteps_tyretracks Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/footstepstyretracks Support our adventures on Ko-fi ➔ https://ko-fi.com/footstepstyretracks (Exclusive updates, behind-the-scenes, and video credits) 📩 BUSINESS ENQUIRIES footstepstyretracks@gmail.com #PunkRock #LasVegas #HiddenGems #MusicHistory

About This Video

We’re still in Las Vegas, but this one isn’t about casinos or shows — I head out to the outskirts of the Strip (Uber was about £29) to visit the Punk Rock Museum. From a British point of view, punk isn’t just a music genre; it’s attitude, politics, frustration, and that feeling of being told there’s no future and deciding to shout back. So yeah, the idea of putting punk in a museum sounds wrong on paper… but almost immediately this place feels different. It’s not polished or corporate — it’s handbuilt, rough around the edges, covered in scribbles and artwork, and it lets you make your own mind up. Walking through as Brits, I talk about the UK vs US punk scenes — British punk coming from economic frustration and broken cities, while US punk grew out of underground art scenes and clubs. What hit me most was how real the exhibits feel: battered guitars, handwritten lyrics, gear that’s actually lived a life. And the DIY mindset runs through everything — punk wasn’t about permission or perfect musicianship, it was about having something to say. I also get into one of the best bits: the guided tours led by actual punk musicians (not the usual museum vibe). And for me, it’s personal — long before YouTube and travel, I played bass in a punk band called Uncle Fester, so this visit landed as more than nostalgia. Is it worth it? Absolutely — especially if you’re British.
