In this video I’m testing ESR’s updated 3-in-1 Qi 2.2 MagSafe charging station with CryoBoost (aka: the longest name ever). I’ve been using the older version for a while and genuinely liked it, so when ESR sent the new one over, I focused on what actually matters for a student desk setup: build quality, footprint, and whether it can replace the cable life without cooking my phone. The layout is super straightforward—MagSafe iPhone puck in the middle, Apple Watch charger behind it, and an AirPods pad at the bottom—with a sturdy, well-balanced stand that doesn’t feel like cheap plastic. Charging-wise, it’s the full package. ESR includes a USB-C to C cable and a 50W brick (which is honestly a nice bonus), and the iPhone side is fast enough that I stopped reaching for a cable. In my test with my iPhone 17 Pro Max, I went from 10% to 54% in 30 minutes, which lines up pretty closely with ESR’s claims. The standout feature is CryoBoost: there’s a fan under the MagSafe pad that keeps the phone from getting hot, which is huge for comfort and long-term battery health. The fan is usually quiet, and if it’s noticeable at night, there’s a button to turn it off—plus the Apple Watch charger pops off to take on the go, which is just genuinely convenient.
