About This Video

Looks like it’s time for me to switch to the Switch 2… but after two weeks, I don’t think it’s for everyone. In this video I break down the Switch 2 hardware upgrades: the more “mature” matte-black build, the way better kickstand, louder/clearer speakers with spatial audio, and the Joy-Cons that are finally bigger and easier to hold (especially if you play one sideways). I also talk about the new magnetic attachment system (way better than the old rail system), the new top USB-C port for tabletop charging, and why you should absolutely protect the screen because that plastic layer scratches super easily. I also go over the display and software side: it’s a big, bright, vibrant LCD with 120Hz, but yeah… I’m still nitpicky about Nintendo not going OLED at this price. The UI is basically the same as Switch 1 (which I like), and Game Chat feels like something I don’t see people paying for when Discord exists. Battery life is objectively worse—I tested the same game and my Switch 2 died about an hour before my Switch OLED—though I’m okay with the trade-off because performance is way up (roughly PS4/PS4 Pro vibes) and docked performance gets a boost thanks to the fan in the dock. My verdict: if you don’t have a Switch, it’s a solid buy because you get the whole Switch 1 library plus better performance. If you already own a Switch, I’d probably wait—either for more exclusives, or for a future “red box” / OLED-style revision with better battery and screen.
