Hey everybody—today we did something a little different and put the iKoffy SliceMaster electric fillet knife to a real-world test. I’ve never had an electric fillet knife before, so the first thing that jumped out at me was it’s cordless (pretty awesome) and fully waterproof, which is a big deal when you’re cleaning fish at the dock or on the boat. It comes with two blades (long and short) plus a fork, so we started with a small porgy and then moved up to a bigger fish with scales where you really have to let the knife do the work. On the fish, what impressed me most was how clean and “factory grade” the fillets came out—no choppy cuts like I get sometimes with a regular knife. You can feel the bone, and it’ll stop when you hit it too hard, which helped me stay right along the frame and get every bit of meat with basically no effort. Skinning was straight money—clean right off the skin with nothing left behind. Then Elizabeth took it into the kitchen and carved a whole turkey into thin slices, and it honestly surprised us all over again. Bottom line: after using this, I don’t want to fillet fish with a regular knife ever again.
