WE HIT 10,000 SUBSCRIBERS! What's up guys in this video I show you 3 exercises or drills you can do to prepare yourself for the worst case scenarios in boxing. Boxing is a cruel and dangerous sport and there are so many bad scenarios but I think these 3 are at the top of the list. Before that, I want to say THANK YOU for watching, liking, leaving comments, & SUBSCRIBING. We just hit 10k subscribers. Let's keep pushing! SHARE THESE VIDEOS. ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN IN BOXING. Even the greatest of fighters can get caught and hurt. All it takes is one punch to turn the fight around. So the 3 worst case scenarios you may find yourself in boxing are: Scenario #1 Injuring or breaking your hand mid fight In a fight you have to find a way to win and sometimes injuries happen (a lot actually) If you injure your hand you still need to be a threat to your opponent. In this drill all you practice is using one hand but also use feints to make your opponent think you are still dangerous with that injured hand. Scenario #2 Swollen eye or cut You may get caught with a solid punch or head butt resulting in the inability to see or at least partially see (double vision). In this exercise, your body is forced to adapt to the new vision. Make sure to keep the injured eye side protected so it doesn't get worse and also because it is hard to see from that side. You can do this exercise hitting the focus mitts or heavy bag I don't recommend doing this while sparring. Scenario #3 Getting knocked down or equilibrium altering punch If you are a pro you know how small 8 or 10oz gloves are AND no head gear. Flash knockdowns happen often and the punches are so quick you may not react on time. If you ever get hurt or wobble you need to recollect yourself and remain calm. If you spazz out you will leave yourself open and exposed and potentially get hit with a fight ending punch. For this exercise, you need to spin 5-10 to simulate the feeling of not having full control of your body. You can do this on the mitts or heavy bag and also light sparring. In this video I use footage of Muhammad Ali being knocked down, Lomachenko being dropped by Linares, Chris Algieri's closed eye against Russian Provodnikov, and young Canelo getting hurt by Cotto.
