It's FREE! So the purpose of this video is to encourage you to pay close attention to how you are training. It is so easy to go through the motions and kill yourself everyday at the gym. Yes, there is a time and place to push yourself to exhaustion but there is also a time to take a step back and have a lighter meaningful training session. It's always great to go back to the slow basics, which leads me to the first exercise. Exercise 1: Slow Technical work-- This exercise is intended to correct your mistakes and examine your body mechanics. Are you throwing correctly? Does the punch or combination feel good? Are your feet in good position? How is your weight distributed, do you feel balanced? All these questions you should be asking and answering when performing this exercise. Again, you don't always have to go hard at the gym day in and day out. SLOW IT DOWN! Exercise 2: Short Burst Power Punches-- This exercise is intended to push and enhance your anaerobic output. Aim for 85-100% effort. Similar to a sprint. Go hard and as fast as possible then take a long adequate break. Taking a long break will allow you to almost fully recover so you can go another set of hard explosive punches. The more conditioned you are the longer the work time or shorter the rest time should be. Play around with the time to see which feels best for you. Exercise 3: Volume Endurance Combos-- This exercises is intended to elevate your aerobic system. This is different from the short burst power punches because you take a shorter break however the work time is longer. Aim for 60-75% effort. The punches you throw don't have to be insanely hard or fast but make sure the volume of punches is there. This exercise will help you build your muscular endurance so you can sustain the intensity as the rounds progress. I personally like finishing my training sessions with 1 or 2 rounds of volume punches. Push through the fatigue it will make you a stronger fighter!
