In this video, I briefly go over how to calculate calories and macronutrients based off of the nutrition facts or food labels. When I was younger I use to think I was eating a lot less calories than I truly was because I didn't pay close attention to the nutrition facts. Just to be clear, food labels are not exact! There may be errors and many of them are not regulated. The best way to know that you are in a calorie deficit is to monitor your weight over a period of time. Understanding food labels is a great place to start the main objective is being mindful and aware of how much you are actually eating. If you are carefully tracking your calorie intake and can sneak in a piece of chocolate in there THEN DO IT! Adherence & consistency is what ultimate gets results and if eating a "BAD" food helps you stay on track don't feel ashamed to eat it. Pay close attention to the serving size on the labels. It is so easy to over eat nowadays with food tasting delicious but full of unwanted calories. Keep in mind highly processed foods are designed to keep you eating. If you are not satiated you will eat more and more. 2 things will happen then. 1) You will spend more money purchasing the highly processed food and 2) You're going to see the scale number rise.
