This is episode 1 of the Beginner Boxing Series. In this series, I teach Daniel, my little brother, and you, the viewer, the basics of boxing. This series is not intended to make you a professional boxer rather introduce you to the fundamentals of the sweet science. In this episode, I go over the boxing stance.Everyone has their own style and preference so play with the technique to see what works best for you. Key things to know: -If you are right handed, place left foot forward, right foot back--Orthodox -If you are left handed, place right foot forward, left foot back--Southpaw -Feet about shoulder width apart -Weight on your toes, helps with agility and stability -Hands up protecting your jaw -Elbows tucked in, not flared out, to maximize body coverage -Bend your knees a bit to improve mobility -Chin down, tucked in, imagine trying to do a double chin these are the principles of your boxing stance Now for movement: -Make sure when you step you do not cross or touch your feet together -Push off opposite foot to which ever direction you're moving and step with the other -Majority of weight is on your toes -Always land in your boxing stance Thanks for watching, hope you enjoy!
