Today I challenged myself to make five songs in one day, and each one had to be inspired by a GIF my Discord sent me. The rules were simple: five songs, one day, and every track has to be a totally different genre (and yes, there’s no third rule). I went from “are we really about to make J-pop right now?” to “we got the wall of death” in the same session, which is exactly the kind of chaos I live for. I started with a J-pop-ish vibe built around the catchiest bassline I could come up with, then I leveled it up with a choir feel using Kits.AI to convert my vocals into a female singer. After that I speedran a bounce track on a 10-minute timer—off-grid groove, 808s, a quick intro with Transit, and somehow it actually worked. Then I brought out 2014 metalhead Ed for a breakdown, tried to stack two vocal tracks (lows + highs), nearly died, but got it sounding better than expected. The last two were mood pieces: a creepy forest electronic track with lyrics I wrote while staring at the GIF, and a sad lofi/hip hop song that turned into a nightmare-morning story—except I can’t rap, so I used Kits.AI again and went for a UK accent to sell it.
