About This Video

Sabrina Carpenter dropped a song that instantly went #1 everywhere… and I somehow hadn’t heard it yet. So I did what I always do: I put two hours on the clock and tried to remake the entire thing without ever listening to the original. My editor Pepe picked the track, gave me a tiny preview, and then I had to build the whole production from vibes, instincts, and whatever my brain decided the next section “should” be. I started by hunting down the core chords on piano, then I leaned into what the vocals were telling me—this country-rock-meets-pop energy (I literally said it was giving Foo Fighters but more pop). From there I grabbed guitar, built a driving rhythm, added a synth bass “boom boom boom” layer, and tried to map out the structure: intro, build, that weird middle part I kept getting stuck on, then a chorus that had to feel huge. After that it was drums, transitions, and making sure the last chorus hit. At the end, we finally compared my remake to the real record. I wasn’t dead-on (different chords), but I got “kind of” close—which, for never hearing the song, I’ll take. Also: all these remakes are demonetized, so I made the Remix Vault to give you my versions for free.
