Imagine if Playboi Carti randomly ditched his usual sound and dropped a full-on rock album. That’s the whole premise of this challenge: I took “MUSIC” and flipped it into rock… but I quickly realized the album is like 30 songs, so yeah, impossible in one day. I had my editor Pepe pick four tracks—“Cocaine Nose,” “Evil Jordan,” “Olympian,” and “Pop Out”—and I rebuilt each one from scratch as a rock version, then compared the vibe to the originals. For each song, I focused on the core identity first (usually the bassline or a signature melodic idea) and then stacked the “rock” language on top: guitars, heavier drums, and big low-end. I used Falcon for foundational sounds like big bass and dark piano, and I leaned hard on UVI Workstation textures to add flavor—plus I even made a little homemade choir and reused it across songs by repitching it. “Evil Jordan” ended up giving me Black Sabbath vibes, “Olympian” got super distorted and scary in the best way, and “Pop Out” was basically already metal so I just made it bigger, heavier, and dumber (in a good way).
