About This Video

What if I had to recreate a song that everybody knows… but I’ve never heard before? That’s the challenge in this video, and yeah—I was a little scared. The rules were simple: I had to pick a song I’d never heard (my editor Pepe chose it), I could only listen to the vocals acapella (no instrumental ever), and I had one hour to rebuild the entire music around the vocal. At the end, we compared my remake to the real track to see if I got anywhere close. Once I heard the acapella, I instantly started guessing chords and chasing a vibe—my brain went straight to “moody 80s.” I built the foundation with piano chords, then layered guitars, bass, and a chopped groove to make it feel big and nostalgic. For the chorus, I switched into a more electronic direction, added chords to support the hook, and even stacked a little “choir” with my own vocals to make the lift hit harder. Spoiler: I was not close to the original… because the original is way happier than what I made. But honestly? I still liked my version more, and it was a great reminder that constraints can push you into your own sound fast.
