About This Video

This video is a full-on “blind remake” challenge: I tried to recreate “DtMF” by Bad Bunny without ever hearing the original song. Pepe (my editor) picked the track, gave me only tiny clues, and I put two hours on the clock to build an entire arrangement from scratch—intro, switch-up, and what I guessed was the chorus—then we compared my version to the real thing at the end. I started by sketching chords that felt right (I went pretty dark, and yeah, I knew the original probably wasn’t that dark… but I didn’t care because it sounded sick). From there I used Output Arcade to hunt for the right textures and grooves—Afro-Cuban flavors for movement, then I flirted with trap drums before deciding it was too much and simplifying the drum story. The big puzzle was connecting three different sections so it still felt like one song, so I leaned on transitions, bass movement (walk-downs), and layering guitars an octave up to make the switch feel “nasty.” Spoiler: Pepe said I wasn’t close at all… but the vibe was cool, and honestly I liked mine more.
