About This Video

This one was pure stress. My editor Pepe picked “Anxiety” by Doechii, and the whole challenge was: remake the entire song without ever hearing the original. I only got a tiny lyric/melody hint to work from, threw two hours on the clock, and started the only way I know how—find the chords on piano, then immediately switch it to guitar because it just felt right. From there I built a full structure: intro into chorus, bigger second half with more layers, then a hard vibe switch into a verse section, and finally back into the hook. To speed-run the sound selection, I leaned on Output’s Co-Producer. I literally typed what I wanted (like an anxious-but-soft drum loop, then later stuff to fill empty space), and it listened to my track and fed me samples that actually matched the key and vibe. That’s how I found a drum loop to chop, extra textures, and even a “left right” marching-style vocal that ended up being exactly what the verse needed. At the end, we compared my remake to the real song… and yeah, I wasn’t close at all—but I made it way darker (as always). The takeaway: constraints force decisions fast, and the “wrong” remake can still turn into your favorite remix.
