In this video I’m giving you my Yeovil Half Marathon 2026 race preview — and I’m properly excited for this one because it’s basically on my doorstep. It’s a testing course with a lot of it on the roads around my home town, so it feels a bit personal, and I’m treating it as a proper race-day effort rather than just a steady Sunday jog. I talk through how I’m thinking about prep, what I want from the day, and how I’m going to approach the event in the build-up. A big chunk of this preview is me picking the best race shoe for the job. I’m weighing up options like the ASICS Metaspeed Ray, the Mizuno Hyperwarp Elite, and even a couple of the newer Chinese brand shoes I’ve managed to get hold of. It’s that classic balance of what feels fast, what I trust over 13.1 miles, and what won’t bite me late on when the legs start asking questions.
