About This Video

In this video I put the Mizuno Neo Zen 2 up against a bunch of current daily trainer options and talk through where each one makes sense: the Adidas Evo SL, Saucony Azura and ASICS Novablast 5. I’m a non-elite runner, so everything here is from real-world miles and the stuff that actually matters day to day—how the upper feels, what the midsole is doing when you’re tired, how the outsole grips, and whether the price makes sense for what you’re getting. I also touch on the Deviate Nitro Elite 3 in the mix, because it’s useful as a reference point when people are trying to work out where “daily” ends and “race-leaning” begins. The main takeaway is that none of these are bad shoes—what matters is matching the ride to your running: easy miles, steady runs, a bit of uptempo work, or just wanting one reliable pair that won’t annoy you. And as always, I’m straight about the admin: I bought the Evo SL and Azura myself, the others were sent in, and nobody is paying me or vetting what I say.
