About This Video

In this one, Matt and I (Gio) finally crack into Old Fitzgerald 7 Year Bottled in Bond Straight Bourbon and run it through our usual Drinks And Chill review: nose, taste, finish, then a score out of 10. We also talk price because I was able to grab it for about $47.99 before tax, which honestly felt way lower than I expected for a bottled-in-bond pour. Even as a neck pour and our first pour of the day (when things can come off sharp), it showed up better than it “should’ve” on paper. On the nose, we got a really nice bourbon sweetness with a nutty vibe right up front—think pecan/walnut territory—with a little fruity note behind it. The big surprise on the palate was this Dr. Pepper / cola thing that hit with a weirdly “carbonated” tingliness, plus more oak impact than we got on the smell. The finish stayed super consistent with the taste—sweet nuttiness, oak, and that Dr. Pepper note lingering—making it an easy sipper you can take your time with. We drop our full scores (nose out of 3, taste out of 5, finish out of 2), add it to our yearly Infinity Bottle, and agree it’s easily in our top three of the year—maybe even flirting with #1.
