About This Video

In this review, it’s me (Gio/Joe) and Matt hanging out in a “same different place” and cracking into Compass Box Glasgow Blend—this time from a full bottle I hadn’t even opened yet. We’ve had it before in a smaller format from a Compass Box lineup we tried a couple years back, and we both remembered it being our favorite of that batch, so we wanted to see if it still hit the same. On the nose, we went back and forth right away—Matt got more smoke at first, and I was pulling lighter, fruity notes. As it opened up, we landed in that lighter fruit zone: pear, white grape, and even a white-wine vibe, plus this “mashed fruit/applesauce” thing that weirdly makes sense. On the palate, it came in a little harsher/sharper than we expected for 43%, and the peat showed up more in the taste. After that initial sharpness, the sweeter flavors came through—vanilla, ice cream, and a caramel drizzle—pleasant, not overly complex, with a soft but present peat level. The finish stayed consistent with the taste: fruit, sweetness, caramel, and a nice coating feel without the sharpness. Then, of course, we added it to the Infinity Bottle and scored it using our nose/taste/finish system, ending up very close to each other across the board.
