I was in the market for a Lamy Al-star fountain pen when I saw the news about the new Lamy Safari retro editions. They were so pretty I just had to give one a try. The blue and red edition is awesome, but I ended up settling on the black and white edition because of its classy looks and ability to pair well with so many different inks. This is my third Lamy Safari fountain pen, but it's my first one with a medium nib, and I have no regrets. It's extremely smooth and reliable. Of all the entry level fountain pens out there, I don't tire of the Lamy Safari.
