So many YouTubers these days tout the pocket notebook as a completely life-changing tool that will save you from doomscrolling. But I've been carrying a pocket notebook for years and struggle to find reasons to use it. But that's changing thanks to this new pocket journaling method. Essentially, it's a way of turning your pocket notebook into a camera, one that helps you to document the interesting things you see and hear while you are living your life. And using this pocket journal method can help you pay closer attention, observe the world more intensely, and enjoy life a little more. This has transformed my pocket notebook from something that I carry out of habit into something that I can't wait to use. Overall, I have really enjoyed using these two pens. They look nice and they feel nice in the hand. Here's a list of the pros and cons I've found with these pens. PROS - Nearly full-metal construction feels very durable without being too heavy. - The vintage look is really nice and stands out from most modern fountain pens. - The clip attaches to the cap in a really interesting way. It's attached at the very top of the cap and then curves down the side. This provides a really distinct look but also a naturally springy experience. - The finish on the pen body feels really durable. I don't get the sense that this pen will scratch easily. - Although the pen is mostly metal, the grip section appears to be coated in some sort of plastic outer sleave, which means the grip isn't slick at all. - The cap posts on the back of the pen quite well, and it doesn't feel too back-weighted when posted. - There is no vertical step-down on the pen body. Instead, there is an angled tapering that looks really cool and feels good in the hand. - The nib has a really unique shape. It flares out a lot, giving it a very vintage feel. And the engraving on the nib also looks very classy. CONS - Overall I really like the writing experience of these pens. It's led me to use them a lot. They are smooth and wet. But I get an occasional hard start or skip. It's happening much less now, so maybe I just needed to flush the pens better before using them? Regardless, despite the occasional skip, I do really enjoy these pens and will continue to keep them in rotation. - They sent me both fine and medium nibs to try, but I don't sense a bit difference between the two sizes. To me, they both feel like mediums. - Overall I like the threading on the cap. It's quick to open and close the pen. Sometimes, on the black one I feel like there is a rough spot on the threading that feels a little scratchy while opening and closing the pen. So that's my two cents on these pens. Overall, I really like them and plan to keep them in my rotation! They are currently listed for $65-69 each. I tend to avoid making judgments about whether or not a pen is "worth it," because everyone feels differently about what they want to spend on a pen, but I can say that it feels solid and it has some really interesting design choices that make it stand out from the crowd in some really cool ways. *Using my affiliate links doesn't cost you any extra, but it means I get a small commission if you use them to make a purchase.
