Noodler's Air-Corp Blue-Black ink is a dark blue-black fountain pen ink. To me, it goes down on paper like a nice cool-toned black, with some blue-gray when the ink shades lighter. It's not really a shading ink, but you can see a little if you look closely. This ink is also highly water resistant. I'd say it's permanent enough to be considered a document ink. The blue components lift off the page when exposed to water, but the black part of the ink is completely permanent. So for me, this is a waterproof fountain pen ink--at least water proof enough for my needs. One downside to this ink is that it has a longer dry time. It's usually not a big deal for me, but I have accidentally smeared it a few times. And it might be good if you have some blot paper handy. Also, this might not be the best fountain pen ink for left-handed writers. Notwithstanding, I am really enjoying this blue black fountain pen ink.
