About This Video

In this video I’m taking a look at ThinkDashboard, which is a super lightweight, minimalist bookmark dashboard that you can self-host in your homelab in basically no time. And I’ve got to say, it’s one of the simplest bookmark dashboards I’ve seen in a while—no YAML files, no databases, just a slick interface and a setup that stays out of your way. I’m not the developer of this app, so for feature requests or troubleshooting you’ll want to hit the GitHub repo, but I wanted to show you what it does and how it fits into a clean, practical homelab workflow. I walk through the interface first: pages at the top, categories laid out in columns, and bookmarks that can optionally show response times in milliseconds (which is pretty cool if you’re keeping tabs on services). The keyboard shortcuts are a big part of the experience too—at first I wasn’t sure how I felt about them, but they’re definitely growing on me. And the best part is configuration happens right in the browser, so you can tweak themes, columns, pages, categories, and bookmarks without messing with config files. Then I show the Docker Compose install: pull the image, map your ports properly (don’t change the container port), mount your data volume, and you’re off to the races. The big caveat is there’s no built-in authentication right now, so keep it local or put it behind a proxy with auth if you need remote access.
